Pamper Yourself

Many people today might consider that pampering one’s self is selfish and a waste of money or it is not worth it. I want to use this post to show you how pampering yourself will lead you to be happier, look younger, and feel healthier. Pampering yourself can consist of many things. It can be in a form of getting a massage, a facial, or any other salon service, it can be taking a day to relax by the pool or visit a spa, it can be treating yourself to a nice dinner or buying yourself a gift. Whatever makes you happy, just choose a day and treat yourself. I personally think we should pamper ourselves at least once a month if possible. For example, if you choose to do a facial or get a massage, both have great health benefits. Massage releases stress, sore muscles and makes you feel less stiff, and some types of massages release toxins from your body, among other benefits. Massages are a great way to unwind, relax, and let go of every day stresses. Regular facials allow your skin to remain clean and wrinkle free, as well as looking young and radiant. Both treatments can only bring benefits to you and by relaxing your body and mind you will also be happier. Especially for women, treating ourselves from time to time makes us very happy, from my experience, and I think you can agree. Small pampering sessions for yourself is a great way to reward yourself for working hard and being an awesome person that you are. It gives you a chance to spend some time with yourself and thank your body and your mind for taking such great care of you every second of your life. Just stop and think how much our bodies do for us, every day, starting from opening our eyes and then closing them at bed time, and everything in between. Be thankful for your body!

Pampering yourself is not just for your body but also for your mind and soul. Take time to meditate, read a great book, spend some time alone drinking your favorite cup of tea or a glass of wine. We get so busy in our lives taking care of everything and everyone else that we owe it to ourselves to take better care of our bodies, minds, and souls. This weekend I propose that you take an hour or a whole day or even the whole weekend to do something that heals your body and/or mind!

Below I suggest a great article which discusses how pampering yourself leads to decrease in stress and overall well being, as well as higher self-esteem.
